Day 10

Day 10 already. Anyone else feeling like they are prepping a lot of food in the morning? If I am prepared this paleo thing is easy and quite tasty I must say! But it does take some preparation.

Enjoy the not quite snow day everyone! Drive safe!

Annie :)

It's a snow day for me! Not really great though since it puts me behind a lecture. The shoe is on the other foot. It's weird working at home in the dark. How do you do it Scott?

Breakfast was fried slices of country ham with eggs and fruit salad (blueberries, pear and kiwi). Black coffee.

There is definitely a lot more food planning and prep with Paleo. No ready to eat meals (although last night's dinner was pretty easy but probably not ideal). Lunches are difficult without leftovers.

The guys cooking may say more about Crossfit women than Crossfit men ;-)

Geoff, Moka and I talk regularly to help fend off the isolation...a little one sided, but works :)

Boiled egg, chicken, avocado, and fruit. Black Coffee.

Scrambled again w/ bacon...and more fruit.

Going to shop for some good burgers today as like the idea of lettuce wrapped burgers!

B: black coffee! Poached eggs, bacon, papaya, kiwi

I'm gonna use my new slow cooker today, I think I'll make a beanless chili! I'll let you know later how it turns out.

Ains, Crossfit Santa Cruz stole your idea. Guess Nick's off the hook.

I guess it's not so weird that I've been talking to the rabbits then. :-)

9:00 am WOD felt strong but can't really tell how paleo's going to effect performance yet.

Breakfast- 1 grapefruit, extreme green smoothie (I checked the label and it's all fruit puree and vitamin c), left over pork sausage, black coffee.

Working evening tonight so I'll have a salad on my break and pack some paleo snacks for afterwards.

Had a weak moment there. Started getting really hungry and I'm surrounded by easy non-paleo food in the house. Wolfed down some almonds and raisins and now am reheating the last of the meat sauce and steaming some baby bok-choy and green beans. Crisis averted

Speaking of which, I had some doubts about green beans and snap peas being allowed but Mark's Daily Apple seems to allow them so I'm going with that. I know it's not strictly no legumes but I think they're on the mild end of the bad legume scale.

breakfast: fruit smoothie-blue, black raspberries half almond milk half water. coffee

snack: dried blueberries and pumkpin seeds.

lunch: turkey sausage.

so pretty impressed with myself... made some paleo granola bars...i was looking online for recipes and then kind of mixed them all together for my own version...

almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds-chop /purree half, and leave other half in big chunks. add craisns, dried blueberries, chopped dates and some shredded cocnut.

over stove bring to boil maple syrup ( i know this isn't exactly paleo) coconut oil, vanilla and cinnnamon

pour over nut mixture and put into pan. can i get a woop woop!?!? hollaaaaa at your girl.

B that sounds deicious!! Although technically not allowed :)

Lauren - check out the links that we added at the top of the main page, there are some great recipe resources...

Breakfast: 2 eggs, bacon, kiwi, papaya, coffee (my breakfast is like groundhog day!! But I love it!!)

Lunch: turkey burget pattie, avocado, salsa, leftover yam fries

Snack: kiwi, berries, cantelope, alomds (I know too much fruit!!)

Feeling really great, cannot believe that I have gone so many days without a headache...I usually get bad ones at least 4-5 times a week.

Wow, just realized how many spelling mistakes I made in that post....is this a side effect?

L: big salad with lots of veggies, roast chicken & lemon as dressing, few pieces of dried fruit for something sweet.

realized (thanks jenny) that i might need something more substantial for breakfast than egg whites...I was starving an hour after breakfast and don't have the option of a B2 during my morning!

still can't believe how easy the switch has been...feeling great today!

So I get to work today and they're baking cookies... We don't have cookies on the menu, they decided to bake some for the staff, so nice right? I was strong though, can't cheat on day 1! :)

Dinner was a half raincoast salad no cheese. Yum! Apple after work.

am hungry again after hot yoga. what does one eat--or should one eat at all--at this late hour? Had a few bites of fresh fruit...am also super dehydrated! getting enough water is a big problem for me...i'm talking all day long and forget to drink. i feel it, especially after sweating for an hour straight!
