I am noticing that fewer and fewer people are posting their meals.....if you are lurking, join us! We are past halfway, stay strong to the end if you want to see true results!!
It takes our bodies several weeks to "detox" from all of the sugar, dairy & grains.....you won't feel the effects of this way of eating after doing it for a day or two....it might take a while. I personally am still not waking up feeling rested, and am still getting random headaches. But then I remember that I have only been eating clean for 15 days, after a lifetime of eating bad stuff!! I have to be patient :)
Post meals, comments & questions!

Good morning! I feel surprisingly awake--let's hope this keeps up! I have officially decided to keep the Challenge going for 60 days to see how it turns out. So please keep posting your ideas as I need more meals to get me to the end!
B: 1/2 turkey sausage, paleo muffin w/almond butter, fruit salad, coffee
Day 8 for me!
My body's feeling pretty good, I think the yoga yesterday was a good idea, should be good to go at kickboxing tonight.
Breakfast this morning was paleo cereal with some almond milk and strawberries. Also black coffee. I know the almond milk isn't whole30 approved but it's what I could grab on my way out the door this morning.
I didn't get a chance to whip up some eggs this morning so I'll probably be eating again in an hour due to breakfast's lack of protein. I'm still trying to keep in the habbit of preparing my meals the night before.
Anyone noticed a difference in performance at the gym yet?
Breakfast:
Bacon with eggs and sweet potato rings fried in the fat, 1/2 grapefruit, fruit smoothy with almond milk, frozen berry mix, banana and chia seeds.
Lunch will be leftovers; meatloaf, butternut squash and 1/2 beet.
Annie and I cracked a bit last night. The meatloaf was incredibly dry without my usual breadcrumbs, milk and BBQ sauce mixed in so we caved and doused it in ketchup.
Maybe I'll have to try and make one of these:
Paleo Sauces
Happy Tuesday,
Things are moving smoothly along in the Belher household. Ains made stew yesterday, which was delicious. One of the first times that I have come home from work with a tasty meal ready for me. Last might we also made Roe's coconut macaroon desert, which was great, thanks.
This morning was the usual egg whites, eggs, and vegetables. I also had a lamb sausage, bought from Geoff and Annie's butcher on Hastings. This was all washed down with a couple of litres of black coffee.
Snack was some grapes, biltong, and of course another gallon of black coffee.
Lunch is going to be a salad and some more sausages.
Dinner is left over stew.
I'm working all night so I'll have to pack a bunch of food. I'll be looking through the fridge to see what I want to snack on at 3 in the morning.
Apart from that, I'm feeling pretty good. I haven't felt bad and I'm not dying to cheat. It sure would be nice to go out for a tasty breakfast but that's about it.
See everyone at the gym
Nick

BB stay strong. Packing food for the day is the key to success. I know it cuts in my beauty sleep, but it really does help me stay on track.
Roe I want the macaroon recipe too. A treat would be lovely.
A big shout out to Chelan who does not post her meals but is going strong on day 16 no cheats and looks FANTASTIC! She is 9 lbs lighter.

I didn't cave!! Someone waved the tray of cookies under my nose & I politely turned him down! :) Instead, I snacked on my carrots, snap peas & cherry tomatoes, some dried fruit & a paleo muffin. Yawn...2 hour Union talk makes me tired & hungry. I agree--packing food & being prepared is key.

S: almonds and grapes
L: leftover prawn salad, 2 oranges
S: turkey pepperoni
D: bacon wrapped beef tenderloin, roasted asparagus and peppers
Dinner: same as Matt!
Went to the chiropractor, she told me that she hasn't seen my neck this tight in a long time, and couldn't adjust me fully because I am so tight...BOO. Hopefully headache will be gone tomorrow, and I will be back in the gym!
Get well Jenny. Neck pain is awful.
Went for a stock up trip to Costco. Meat and eggs mostly. Picked up a roast chicken for dinner with a few veggie sticks.
Snacked on almonds, raisins and dates.
I tried my hand at making mayonnaise. It was pretty easy to do in the food processor and came out with the right texture. The flavour isn't great. It really tastes of olive oil. I think a better olive oil or an oil with less flavour would be better since this one has a nasty after taste. I killed it by adding more mustard, lemon juice and some garlic so now it's tolerable.
WTF worse case of heart burn tonight! At least I think it's heart burn...not too sure came on suddenly now I am sitting on my couch w a puke bucket. :( Yuk!
hey guys!!
Shame everyone sounds like they're getting ill...or have been ill. feel better!
the paleo macaroons are not really extremely paleo, cause they have honey in them...which i really don't understand why honey isn't paleo?
anyways the recipe is as follows:
Ingredients:
3 Large egg whites
1/3 cup honey
1+1/2 shredded coconut (unsweetened or sweetened depends on your paleo strictness)
1/3 cup almond meal
pre-heat oven to 180 degrees
place egg whites in a bowl and use electric beater until stiff peaks form.
fold in honey, coconut, and almond meal until just combined to minimize the handling of the batter
spoon1-2tbs of mixture per macaroon onto a baking tray lined with baking paper / wax paper
bake for 15 mins with medium sized and 18 mins for large sized macaroons.
you can also add 3tbs of cocoa for chocolate macaroons :)
enjoy if you make them, they're so addictive, you can't just have one...
haven't really kept track of my meals today. didn't get much of a lunch, but have been snacking all day!
congrats miss Chelan Harrison on losing 9 lbs!!
i'm still going strong with no cheats, but haven't seen much difference in my body...coach said cut down on my calorie intake...but if i eat less calories, everyone will hate me....and i might die...well at least thats how i'd feel.
see everyone at the den tomorrow for a nice .com wod!
niiiiight!
