Day two breakfast...I'm also surviving without peanut butter!!
1 soft boiled egg, leftover ham, fruit salad (blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, pomegranate) and coffee (no sugar) with a little bit of almond milk (yuck).
I too am on board for a Paleo January, December was horrible as far as the diet went! Breakfast: 2 poached eggs, back bacon, pineapple, black berries and black coffee
Morning snack: 1 Asian pear w 2 turkey pepperoni links
Lunch:
dinner left over;still just as yummy as last night.
PM snack: 1 hard boiled egg w blackberries and blueberries and some cashews
Misch, look at the ingredients in Elevate me bars. I love them too, but I have a feeling they are not Paleo.
Scott is making our dinner right now or BBQ steaks w prawns cooked in coconut oil and garlic w roasted asparagus and a side salad. The house smells good! Although I don't feel like I deserve all that food after dodging today's hard wod! lol
Elevate Me bars have "whey protein"...is that milk?? thought i'd ask since i saw that Knight posted that he had one! :) Need to check Costco again for Larabars. I'm 0/2.
I'm having trouble finding Nitrite free bacon & sausages...any ideas?
ok ok...no Elevate Me bars. I'll hide them for now! :)
Also had some pineapple for dessert. I am eating way too much fruit, I think. Definitely more than the one serving Chelan was talking about! How much should we be having?
so I was in a rush this morning so didn't get to eat breakfast and was STARVING by lunch....
Oh ya, and i'm in too with the challenge. need to lose my holiday fat! HAHA Lunch:
salad with ham, lettuce,spinach,11/2 eggs, artichoke, quarter avo, balsamic vinegar and a drop or two of olive oil. i also had an organic acai berry smoothie with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and banana with fresh squeezed apple juice....absolutely DELICIOUS!!!
snack: some south african biltong (aka jerky)
Dinner: (left over from yesterday) ground chicken with mini tomato's, spring onion and some b.vinegar....i love vinegar if no one noticed!! half a cucumber cut into sticks and some grapes for dessert.
now i'm going to eat an apple.... good night all! see you all tomorrow! good job on the workouts everyone!
Misch - we found Lara Bars at the Burnaby Costco on Sunday!
And we buy nitrite free bacon & sausage at the butcher in Lynn Valley Mall (North Van), but I am sure there are places closer to you...
As for the fruit - 1 serving per day is recommended if your goal is weight loss. For now I think you should just eat what you feel like, get used to eating Paleo before you get to worried about too much fruit. I don't think you should ever feel guilty for eating grapes :)
I have missed you all so much. I am too into this challenge! I can't start crossfitting till january 13th but then I am back full throttle. I am going to start this challenge tomorrow, it will be my day one=) Can't wait to be back at the gym see you all soon. This has been the longest 12 weeks of my life!

Went to African BreeSe for biltong. The spicy version looks nice and lean right now if anyone needs a good "beef jerky" on hand.
