One week left!!!
How is everyone feeling? Do you have more energy? Less sugar cravings? Feeling lean?
I am feeling good, but still not as good as I know I can. I am just going to push through this last week, focusing on more veggies, less nuts & fruit. It's hard though.....fruit is my fave :)
Not alot of posting over the weekend....if you are lurking, then post! If you fell off the wagon, fess up and commit to gettting back on!!
Post meals to comments, have a great day.

Lazy Monday breaky:
1 grapefruit and black coffee
1hr later
2 eggs over easy w 2 slices of pan fried turkey instead of bacon and a few sundried tomato served w avocado and more black coffee.
The sundried tomato was a nice new flavour to my breaky. :)
I am down 5 lbs from the start. I have also focused on sleeping a lot since the beginning of this 30 days, so it's hard to say where the energy is coming from, but I am feeling great and I look forward to continuing on this Paleo adventure.
Feeling good today, legs are a little sore from all the squats on Saturday, but other than that, energy levels feel up! Our new curtains have really made a difference in making our bedroom a cave!
B: poached eggs, bacon, grapefruit, berries, coffee
S: banana, almond butter
L: chicken breast, avocado, spinach salad
There I was, riding in the back of a spacious paleo wagon when we unexpectedly hit a bump. I couldnt see who was manning the wheel, but we were obviously driving too fast and i was literally thrown from the wagon. That was friday night.
I got back in, dusted myself off and wouldnt'ya know it - we were rudely cut off in traffic early saturday evening and had to quickly swerve and i fell off the side. I know what youre thinking - but if there were any seatbelts, i would have worn one. I was able to hang on (barely) but I got dragged for at least 4 blocks.
I cut my knee. It still stings.
I then escorted the wagon on sunday instead of getting in it but was pleasantly surprised when it was parked out front of my house this morning for me to catch a lift!!?
B: turkey sausage, 1/2 banana, black coffee
The food part of paleo is pretty easy. The non-alcoholic part of paleo isn't.
Looking forward to less of a liquid diet, some actual sleep and a solid week in the Den.
lol...thanks for a Monday Morning laugh, Knight! Sorry to hear about the bumps and bruises! I was very tempted to have a drink while watching the Canucks Saturday but fought it off...although I did lose a bet that we'd crush the Flames--guess I'm buying and I fully plan to go one-for-one with my friend once the 30 days are up! :)
B: 2 poached egg whites w/guac, 1/2 pork sausage, paleo muffin, fruit salad (cantaloupe, blueberries, blackberries, cherries), coffee w/splash of coconut milk
S: banana/berry smoothie with almond milk
ok ok--so I am not doing so well with cutting the fruit...maybe a goal for days 31-60?
Annie and I had a major derailment yesterday. Our struggles with the food have been steadily increasing and I've been feeling weaker and weaker. I've been losing weight which I really didn't want to happen and I just can't eat enough with the Paleo diet.
We have decided to put an end to the strict Paleo trial because at this point I really don't think it is healthy for me. Not so good calories are better than not enough calories. I don't think that Annie and I have shown any extreme sensitivities to the big 3 but we'll see if 3 weeks was enough to bring them out.
All that said, coming back from Whistler Annie and I were faced with mounting hunger and not enough time to cook and get our work done for Monday so we went straight for Sushi. The rice, tempura, teriyaki and soy didn't stand a chance.
We were back on with a Paleo breakfast this morning with bacon, eggs, fruit salad and coffee so it's not all out the window but there will be some non-paleo items showing up on our menu if you guys want us to continue posting meals.
Wow Knight, sounds like a pretty wild weekend!!
Geoff - it's totally normal to be feeling weak. Did you read the post about the "Paleo Flu"??
B: poached eggs, bacon, grapefruit, berries
S: 1/2 lara bar, orange pepper
L: salad with prawns, guac, orange pepper, 1/2 grapefruit, kiwi
Best part so far is that Annie is starting to explore the Paleo cooking sites and taking on some of the cooking detail. She made a great curry last night (I'm sure she posted), almond breaded chicken on salad for lunch today, and another surprise for dinner tonight.
So far so good. Enjoying the whole paleo menu, but still gonna put back a full pail of ice cream on day 31...
Knight!
As usual highly entertaining! And I hear you, I think my first indulgence will be a glass of red and a bowl of ice cream. Not sure how well they go together, but they have been my only real cravings.
Lunch:
salad w breaded chicken (in almond flour and spice) and mixed veggies, lemon and evoo dressing
a few prunes and walnuts for sweets
Snack:
Ants on a log w an hard boiled egg and a dried fig
Post wod:
A clementine
Dinner:
Yam Turkey Curry Shepherd's Pie
OMG you have to try this recipe!
Go to Tasty Paleo site mentioned last night and search for "Yam Turkey Curry Shepherd's Pie". It was sooo tasty I ate way too much! I used beef instead of ground turkey and up the quantity a bit cuz I like it meaty and we couldn't find green curry tonight at Superstore, so we used red curry. But the mix of spicy and sweet is just the best!
I am full and satisfied and not tempted at all to graze like most night on too many fruits and nuts.
Crap! Deleted my previous comment by accident...oops.
Way too many pushups tonight!! But I'm finally able to string 4-5 double unders together!! :)
L: salad with lots of veggies & roast chicken, apple w/cinnamon
S: paleo muffin (baking is my hell...Paleo or not...it calls out to me.)
D: turkey burger (don't really remember what I put in with the ground turkey but it was SOO good...chopped spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, dijon mustard..) & my first slight cheat tonight was Whole Foods Beet & Fennel salad (ingredient list mentioned GMO-free canola oil and honey). I had the meat leftovers but not the veggies and didn't really feel like steaming, roasting & sauteeing this late. I have been pretty strict otherwise so I'm not feeling too guilty about it.
D: cherries & almonds
Annie T-I have your copy of Paleo Solution. Will crack it open tonight & start reading! ;)
Felt off today, sluggish and cranky....lovely! Didn't want to work out, but went anyways. Mentally I wasn't there and it showed...I have to work on that!!
Went to Cactus Club for dinner with Chris & Chelan after the WOD....I think our server hated us....4 waters and very complicated orders :)
Afternoon snack was carrots, tea, turkey slices, dried mango
Jenny: salad with chicken, avocado, egg, berries, peppers, tomatoes, yam fries
Matt: bunless burger (no cheese), side salad & yam fries
