Day 8

Hey everyone! We survived the weekend (well, most of us did...), great work!!

I personally feel great. Not "leaping" out of bed in the morning yet, but feel like my energy is really consistent throughout the day. And my skin feels way better too....

Post meals to comments, have a great day.

Happy Monday!

Definitely didn't leap out of bed this morning either...it'll come soon, I hope?

B: 1 poached egg w/dollop of guac (I can eat it with anything!), fruit salad, coffee with splash of coconut milk (finally! decent coffee!)

No leaping here either...but mornings are not really my thing.

I did hop on the scale and loose 3 pounds this week. Surprising with all the sausage and bacon and I certainly had more than 1 serving of fruit a day.

I am not noticing drops or gains in wods yet.

I just had the most flavorful red grapefruit w black coffee. I will let my stomach wake up before eggs today.

Talk to everyone later.

B: 2 poached eggs (I need to mix this up - I know!), turkey sausage, 1/2 kiwi, grapes

am I supposed to be decreasing my fruit this week? I am definitely eating more than one serving of fruit! There is more than that in my morning fruit salad!! I live off fruit, always have. That might be the hardest thing to 'cut' for me!

Energy levels are certainly not there in the morning - but they havent really been since i was about 7 getting up to watch saturday cartoons.

D: homemade lettuce wrapped burgers w/ yam fries... sooooooo f'kn good with avo, onions, toms...mmm

B: fruit smoothie, 1/2 orange, black coffee.

L: Left over lettuce wraps! very excited.

Sn: turkey slices, apple.

Dinners are by far the most enjoyable part of eating paleo. Its time for a steak soon.

holy shit im hungry as i type/read this.

Totally agree with you Knight, dinners are so yummy I am not feeling deprived at all! Love my steaks!

Misch, I would say don't worry at all about cutting fruits. The fruits and nuts recommendation is only if you are trying to slim down. But that shouldn't be your focus at all or you will waste away! I suspect the reason my energy is so much better this time trying Paleo is because of all the fruits I am eating. Last time I was so concern about fruits and sugar because of my zone programming that I was feeling really carb deprived and sluggish. We exercise enough to earn our fruits!

Breakfast:
left over cook chicken, half an avocadoe and 1 hard boiled egg w more black coffee

Lunch:
about to make an omelette w egg white, spinach, smoked salmon, capers and capers w a side of fruits

Thanks Annie! Yay, fruits it is! :)

Knight...my bison burger was great but might be better with some lettuce! Great idea!

recess: paleo muffin, carrot sticks/guac

lunch: big spinach salad with lots of veggies, roasted chicken, lemon juice as dressing

okayyyyyy, so a week late jumping on the bandwagon, but...better late than never right?!?! i kinda took last week as my transition week to get back into it. really...?? just another excuse :( i wasn't eating to bad, BUT im in now! i really look forward to reading everyones comments so i guess i should start blogging as well.

chocolate and sweets is my biggest problem, so knowing i have to write it down will hopefully force me not to eat it, as i will be overwhelmed with guilt and shame...and i only have 3 weeks of training hard and eating healthy to look good in a bathing suit till i leave for central america where i can party my face off!!!

soooo mon jan 10th: day 1

breaky: fruit smoothy, americano

lunch: apple, roast turkey, celery, beets, yams...from WF

americano

see you at the fit 5pm :)

Fried eggs with fried pancetta and fruit salad (grapefruit, pomegranate and banana). Black coffee. Pancetta is new to me; basically Italian bacon and it has a slightly different flavour and texture than bacon. More like prosciutto.

Spicy elk sausages with leftover squash, broccoli and cauliflower (mushrooms and onions and a bit of chicken for Annie) and a side of veggie sticks.

Snack of almonds if I find time.

Dinner is up in the air. Maybe spaghetti squash with meat sauce.

My stomach is back to normal today but I'll see how I feel at dinner.

As for the fruit, my understanding is if you want to experience ketosis which is a shift in your bodies energy systems from glycogen to the fat system then lower your carb consumption (mostly fruit). That should also lower your insulin sensitivity.
