Day 9 already! I think I am experiencing my first energy dip, but I can't believe I went this long.
Stay strong everyone I know we will turn a corner and feel great soon! See everyone at the den for 4:30...unless we get hit by the storm!
Good day team!

Feeling good, I am getting WAY less headaches than normal, which surprises me. Still reading Robb Wolf's book - now I realize how critical sleep is...I am going to start going to bed earlier!
I am focusing on eating a bit less fruit than normal, and only eating yams & bananas post WOD. I do want to lose fat, so this is what I have to do!!!
B: 2 eggs, bacon, grapes, coffee
Thank God the cavemen drank coffee!!
B: poached eggs, bacon, topped with homemade guacamole, grapes, orange and of course coffee, black gold!
D: roast chicken, steamed veggies.
B: 1 hard boiled egg, 1/2 grapefruit, small fruit smoothie (fruit, almond milk), coffee.
i def am eating loads of fruit, but i feel like i need it right now to just keep my blood sugar levels up. it'll be another week or so before i change that habbit.
i would like to tone down my nut/ trail mix intake as i think handfulls daily probably isnt as good as it tastes.
so f'ing hard to get out of bed... i spend the first 10 mons thinking of excuses as to why i can sleep in for an extra hout. i think this is the norm for me though and has little to do with paleo. we'll see...
still soo tired in the morning. i need to read Robb Wolf's book & get to bed much earlier! Annie, you mentioned that I could borrow your copy--perhaps you could bring to Xfit? :)
B: scrambled eggs (1+1egg white) with spinach, onions, tomatoes, basil, a little tuna with guac/salsa. fruit salad, coffee (with coconut milk)
i should really lessen the fruit to a certain degree but it's so hard to part with! maybe limit it to mornings and just before Xfit. Definitely looking to lean out just a tad--i want to get back to my summer shape!
day 2 for BB...
breaky: half turkey sausage and hard boiled egg. i don't eat the yellow part, i only like the white stuff....apple, half lara bar and americano.
snack: almonds, walnuts and craisins
lunch: other half oh my turkey sausage, baby carrots, banana and coffee
sleep is my favorite thing! i love to go bed by 10 and get my 8 hours :)

was craving something sweet after lunch--had a few pieces of dried fruit. double edged sword to keep them too handy...trying to lay off nibbling!
Snack: Paleo cereal (blueberries, blackberries, almonds, walnuts, almond milk)...I get crazy cravings for something 'cereal-like'.
Dinner will be salad with lots of veggies & roast chicken, lemon dressing.
No Xfit today...shoulder is really angry! Heading to Holli's stretch class, hope to see some of you there soon! It's great and I agree with Robyn, you feel amazing after!
afternoon delight: chicken deli meat, scoop of almod butter, pear.
i got a salad from WF for dinner. spinach, kale, beets, celery, broccoli, golgi berries, seasemee seeds. i had balsamic dressing which i don't think is paleo but thats ok with me....
def the cleanest eating day in a long time for me! no chocolate! no big deal...
if only it wasn't so expensive to eat paleo! i swear all my money goes to whole foods!
going to have some tea and probably nibble on nuts and seeds and things of these sorts before bed.
common snow!!!

Misch, Geoff has dibs on reading 'Paleo Solution' after Jenny and Matt, but I am putting you down as next on the list. ;)
Sleep is a very big variance and too often neglected by over achievers! I have made it a priority this year to focus on sleep and recovery as much as training.
Jenny, we totally support you in your bridal bootcamp, but FYI you totally look amazing already and we'll be a stunning bride.

Roast Chicken (from Jamie Oliver I think)
1 Roaster
1 lemon
Veg: Carrot,celery,pepper,onion,garlic clove.
Spices: Thyme,basic,sage,salt & pepper.
Preheat oven to 375
Chop veggies and toss in olive oil and spices. Use full cloves of garlic. Place in bottom of roasting dish.
Rub chicken with olive oil and rub in the spices. Puncture the lemon a few times and stuff into the chicken. Place in roasting dish.
Bake at 375 for 1 hour. Baste chicken and veggies.
Bake for another hour or so until the internal temp is 165 C.
Let sit for a good 15-20 minutes before carving.
Pardon my french...of course I meant I 'ate' way too much! I didn't 'hate' it it was delicious!
Well I guess I should say Hello since I have been lurking for a while...
Man I need some sugar! Felt good this morning and throughout most of the day but had a mini meltdown around 6pm. Bad headache and almost slipped up by eating one of everything (non paleo) in my fridge.
I have to say its quite a challange cooking regular food and not being able to eat it!!!
B: Half grapefruit, Banana, 2 espresso
L: Chicken Chorizo (Spicy) and Chicken basil garlic sausage
Snack: Live square x2, mandarin
D: Salad with olive oil/balsamic dressing / Prawns and leftover roast chicken

Welcome newcomers & lurkers!!
Ant - you need to eat more for breakfast (protein!!!). But the headaches are totally normal for the first couple of weeks.
Annie - Bridal Bootcamp is in full effect, only 8.5 months to go!! haha. But seriously, I do want to lose about 10 pounds.

I notice a trend w Crossfit dudes! You guys can cook!
I must say the Crossfit ladies love it.
Matt, your burger sounds delicious, I will put a request with my chef. ;)
Annie, you got another funny one in there that made me laugh...
"Jenny, we totally support you in your bridal bootcamp, but FYI you totally look amazing already and we'll be a stunning bride."
Two for 1 for Solo, hey? :-D
Wow, a lot of ppl posting today. Nice to get ideas from others.
B: 2 eggs, pancetta, fruit salad (cantaloup, blueberries, mandarins, pomegranate), black coffee
L: spaghetti squash with some very yummy meat sauce (elk sausage and ground beef), salad (yellow peppers, carrots, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds)
Snacks: carrots, snap peas, almonds
Dinner: one very big half chicken with tomatoes and 1/2 avocado.
Feeling hungry for meat today!
Geoff says hemp seeds are ok for this challenge. You all agree on this or did I screw up?
As for energy levels, nothing different for me since I started the challenge. Not sure why but I guess it's good.
The Crossfit dudes will deserve a very special medal at the end of the 30 days... All this cooking is awesome, thanks Geoff!
Feeling really great. No headaches, workout performance is up, energy levels are way up and my appetite is starting to come down. The road to 185 is well on its way.

L: green salada w/t roast chicken and avacado and carrots
L 2: small portion of chicken, 2 paleo muffins (chelan's recipe) an apple

The Pie
Hey everyone! I just realized you've been posting here. I am back on paleo and was going to start my first day tomorrow because I needed to get groceries first but I'm going with the whole30 advise of "do it now!" so my post workout and dinner will be 1 egg, 2 whites, 2 cups of spinach and some pork sausage.
Going full on tomorrow!
Does anyone have any recipes they can give me? I'm imagination is lacking :)
forgot to mention-had an entire banana for the first time in 9 days today...almost felt too heavy! been doing lots of berries/melons and less dense fruits. may start going halfers for bananas. recess snack was a banana and some almonds.
i am loving all the food ideas! chicken, sweet potatoes & broccoli are getting old! keep sharing! :) Unfortunately, I don't have a Xfit cook chez moi--but I'm learning that I'm not as useless in the kitchen as I thought!
Annie, no rush on Paleo Solution. But yes, my turn after Geoff!
I'm not feeling a big change in energy either. The only meal that has really changed for me is breakfast...my lunches & dinner were pretty Paleo-friendly, except for cheese. The big difference is no more bad snacking! We'll see what the upcoming days bring. :)
Good night!
It's almost bedtime apparently, I mean my "imagination is lacking".. ugh
